Flu Vaccine Information

Physicians Plus strongly encourages you to obtain your flu shot at your primary care clinic. Please contact your primary care clinic to schedule your flu vaccination. However, if you are not able to obtain it at your primary care clinic, P+ members may receive reimbursement for flu shots received at walk-in clinics. For possible reimbursement, please send the following information:
  • Name
  • Birthdate
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Copy of your paid receipt

People at high risk of serious flu complications or people who live with or care for high-risk persons should receive a flu vaccine.

Physicians Plus strongly urges vaccinations for:

  • All children 6 months to 18 years old
  • Anyone 50 years and older
  • Pregnant women
  • Anyone with a chronic condition
  • Anyone in contact with infants less than 6 months old
  • Families, households or individuals in contact with someone in these groups
  • Health care workers
  • Anyone who wants protection from the flu

Tips to Fight the Flu

  1. Wash your hands frequently, especially after blowing your nose, coughing, sneezing, being near ill people and especially before you eat
  2. Avoid sharing objects
  3. Avoid touching your nose, mouth and eyes
  4. Get enough sleep
  5. Reduce stress
  6. Use tissues for coughs and sneezes and dispose of them properly
  7. Eat right and get regular exercise
  8. If you are sick, avoid contact with the frail, very young and elderly
  9. If you are sick, stay home from work or school
Flu Symptoms
  • Fever lasting three to four days (about 102–104° F)
  • General aches and pains are extremely common and often severe
  • Fatigue and weakness can last up to three weeks
